I started making beaded jewelry as a kid and fell in love with metalsmithing in college at Millersville University. I opted to take the path of pursuing my passion to make jewelry and metal sculpture rather than my major in graphic design. So my first job out of college was changing watch batteries and polishing rings at the largest family owned jewelry store on the east coast at that time in 2004. Through the years I worked as a jeweler and a gold buy consultant, buying scrap, estate pieces, and diamonds. I’ve worked for small “Mom & Pops” and custom jewelers, helping with sales and repairs. All while making and selling my own work in these small stores AND following an interest in gemstones with the Gemological Institute of America. My goal was to get my Graduate Gemologist diploma and learn the world of jewelry appraising to pair with my jewelry sales. I’m now an independent jewelry appraiser, a Certified Member of National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, and member of Accredited Gemologists Association. And I’m finally exploring the world of having a more skilled jeweler make my custom designs, enabling me to make what I want, when I want.
I’m a mother of a spunky red-head named Annie (who’s twin is Judy Moody 😉 ) and wife of an amazing man who chased me at Christmas parties as a kid. I’m passionate about our environment, social justice, and the arts.
